a night to remember

The world was on fire last night, and Brooklyn was no exception. Hearing people scream in the streets about politics seems like a foreign concept for the United States, but it was appropriate for the huge step we took as a country towards regaining our dignity as a nation. I remember one of my teachers in high school telling our mostly white class that a black president is something we would never see in our lifetime…and I think that for the most part we believed it. Until yesterday, a day that was filled with hope.
