a tale of three virgins

Virgin One likes to be in nature and particularly likes it when flowers are in bloom. The downside? Harsh winters and lonely nights. She prays for a longer spring….or at least the opportunity to relocate to Boca Raton.

Virgin Two is very beautiful indeed. She has had many admirers, and often cannot get a minute to herself. She doesn’t mind though, as she loves all people and rejoices in their admiration of her.

virgin2

Virgin Three loves music of all kinds, and likes to share it with everyone around the world. She has been a kind and loyal friend to many people throughout the years, which only adds to her confusion as to why people have turned their backs on her. She has decided to disappear, promising never to return.

Davinia says this about this mobile photo she took:

I see this man everyday on my way to work. Today I finally got to meet him….the drivers behind me didn’t appreciate my interest.

I am sure they didn’t. People are too wrapped up in their own shit today to be bothered, especially by people who exist in the margins of “normal” living. Octomom and swine flu are sweeping the nation for crying out loud…who’s got time to worry about anything else?

Hipsters rejoice! The warmer weather not only brings back the familiar sights and sounds of ghetto ice cream trucks, Reggaeton blasting from your local bodega and overweight women showing off their thongs….no, it also means the return of SHORT SHORTS! This mobile pic shows that only in New York can guys compete for amount of thigh exposed during the summer.

Thanks Dave.

This African idol was brought over from Tanzania without any indication of its past, true meaning or intentions. I’d prefer to keep it that way.

…even on the weekends.

Thanks Dee.

ye olden days

John fantasized about being the king of New York this weekend while visiting Belvedere castle in central park. Both John and the castle are simply displaced in time…true gems indeed.

walden

Walden was one of those books that I was forced to read in high school that I actually loved reading. Now as an adult, Henry David Thoreau’s message of living simply and getting back to basics resonates with me more than ever. Imagine my excitement at visiting Walden Pond this past weekend. Strict rules about staying on the designated path as well as a horde of less than cute locals couldn’t dampen my spirit.

A replica of Thoreau.

The interior of Thoreau’s cabin. This could easily fetch $1800 in the East Village.

The locals went crazy over the warm weather. GET A GRIP PEOPLE.

The main attraction. She was as cold as ice.
